Project Description:
Baklava Palace was using an outdated version of Odoo (version 10) for their inventory management, order processing, and accounting. They wanted to upgrade to the latest version of Odoo (version 15) to take advantage of the new features and improvements. The migration involved transferring all the data from the old system to the new system and ensuring that the new system was integrated with taxation. The client also wanted to optimize their Odoo server for production use.
Project Requirements:
The main requirements of the project were as follows:
1) Migrate all the data from Odoo 10 to Odoo 15.
2) Ensure that the new system was integrated with taxation.
3) Optimize the Odoo server for production use.
Project Solution
To meet the client’s requirements, we took the following steps:
Data migration: We started by analyzing the structure of the old system and mapping the data to the corresponding modules in Odoo 15. We then created a plan for the migration and used the excel sheets of Odoo to transfer the data. The migration process was complex, and we had to develop custom scripts to transfer some of the data. We ensured that all the data was migrated accurately and without any loss.
Taxation integration: We integrated the new system with taxation by configuring the tax rules and settings in Odoo. We ensured that the tax calculations were accurate and compliant with the regulations.
Optimization: We optimized the Odoo server by configuring it to work efficiently with the available resources. We used the latest version of nginx as the web server and implemented SSL to ensure that all communication with the server was secure. We optimized the Odoo workers and database to improve its performance.
Results:
The Odoo migration project was a success. We were able to transfer all the data from the old system to Odoo 15 without any data loss. The new system was integrated with taxation, ensuring that the tax calculations were accurate and compliant. The optimization of the Odoo server resulted in improved performance and faster response times, which enhanced the user experience.
